Service North 2023 Sponsor Profile: Syniad IT

Welcoming Our Esteemed Sponsors for ServiceNorth 2023.

We are thrilled to announce the invaluable support of our sponsors for ServiceNorth 2023, without whom this event would not have been possible. Their commitment to excellence and dedication to the industry is commendable, and we are honored to have them on board.

In this blog we present you with our sponsor Syniad IT, where Steve Morgan, Director at Syniad IT talks about their motivation to sponsor ServiceNorth 2023, the importance of SIAM and some forecasts about SIAM in 5 years’s time.

About Syniad IT

I started Syniad IT 10 years ago, having worked in various consulting firms.  We specialize in IT Operating Model design, build and implementation.  We also undertake maturity assessments and help clients with tool selection.  Our particular areas of expertise are SIAM and IT Service Management.  Our clients span industries and geographies, but they’re just trying to make their IT organisations more efficient and effective.

What motivated you to become a sponsor and support Service North 2023?

We’ve supported Service North since its inception.  I love the atmosphere at these events, and of course they’re always well run by Scopism!  More importantly, as a sponsor, it’s a great way to connect with prospective clients, and we did this back in 2017, which lead to one of our biggest and most challenging programmes.

Why do you think SIAM is important?

Many organisations are finding themselves working with multiple suppliers, and recognise the need for a Service Integrator in their operating models.  SIAM provides a great framework that organisations can adapt to meet their specific challenges.  I’ve been proud to be involved in the development of the SIAM framework, but this work will never end, as challenges, expectations and market conditions will create the need for us to continual involve SIAM as a framework.

Where do you see SIAM in 5 years’ time?

I think the core principles that we know today will still be there, but we will have to evolve the overall framework to take account of industry needs.  I think that the learnings of many major SIAM programmes are yet to be distilled, but I can a greater emphasis on the commercial and contractual elements of building a multi-supplier operating model becoming more critical, as we expect suppliers to come together and collaborate effectively.  That will need some good contractual support to make it happen.

What does SIAM mean to you?

SIAM is a tool in the Operating Model “toolbox”.  Alongside other tools like ITSM, Project & Programme Management frameworks, CObIT, etc.  It’s a key part of any IT operating model design, to answer the question “How do we make it all work togerher?”
