We are excited to share the highlights and key takeaways from the first of our monthly, Scopism SIAM community meetings in the DACH region (click to join FREE).
The meeting brought together professionals interested in and working in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland who are passionate about Service Integration and Management (SIAM).
Our 1st Meeting
Friday 22nd September saw us kick off our first meeting hosted by Community Champion & DACH region moderator, Markus Müller, who gave us a brief update on the status of SIAM. Whilst we have great annual conferences with itSMF, there is no regular community that exists to share ongoing experiences, challenges, and success stories to provide dynamic, data-informed learning in this region. This is what prompted the requirement to reinstate an ongoing meet-up to bring together SIAM enthusiasts from different organizations and industries to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration.
We had a diverse group in attendance, with a variety of experiences and expertise. Starting with a group introduction and discussion virtually, we discussed purpose and themes and agreed on a monthly frequency to gain momentum and raise awareness of the benefits and importance of the community. Our aim is to learn from one another, gain expertise and continue to develop SIAM further, keeping it relevant.
Future sessions
Pre-prepared topics of discussion by Markus, added to by our attendees, gave a solid starting point of where the community needs to explore. Future sessions will be guided by the feedback and requirements of individuals with the opportunity to have hands-on activities, group discussions, and brainstorming sessions that will allow participants to actively engage with SIAM concepts and share their experiences. The sessions are virtual non-recorded meetings to provide a collaborative nature to the meeting with the aim of creating value through exchanging ideas with like-minded professionals.
For further discussion:
- Training in German language
- How to implement (parts of) SIAM for a smaller company
- How to create a SIAM business case
- Is there a certain organizational maturity for SIAM to be effective?
- SIAM as a solution to boost maturity
Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices
One of the primary objectives of our meetings is to facilitate knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices. We hope to showcase some of the key insights gained from these events, including innovative approaches to SIAM implementation, challenges faced by organizations, and successful case studies. Providing members with practical takeaways they can apply in their own SIAM journeys.
Networking Opportunities
Networking is an essential aspect of any of our community meetings or events, and the DACH region events will be no exception. Our community provides networking opportunities globally and these virtual meetings, with informal gatherings, will emphasize the importance of building connections within the SIAM community and the potential for future collaborations.
To end, great people make great sessions, and this was nothing short of a concentrated group of intelligent like-minded professionals in the SIAM industry. I’d like to thank those who attended, Markus for hosting and to welcome anyone interested or working on fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the DACH region and SIAM community.
Stay tuned for more updates on our future events as we continue to strengthen the SIAM community in the DACH region!
