Scopism hosted the second meeting of the SIAM Leadership Council

Scopism hosted the second meeting of the SIAM Leadership Council online, on May 29th. This blog highlights the discussions and outcomes from the second meeting, focusing on the priorities, growth, and future initiatives of the SIAM community. The next meeting will be a face-to-face meeting taking place after the Service North Global SIAM Conference in November.

About the SIAM Leadership Council

The SIAM Leadership Council includes attendees who represent SIAM thought leadership from around the world, including our Scopism community partners.

The council’s goal is to identify priorities for the SIAM community for the next 12 months and support the ongoing growth and evolution of SIAM, with attendees sharing their perspectives and experience from working with SIAM on many different engagements.

SIAM Community Update

Stephanie Ward, Community Manager at Scopism, provided an update on the SIAM community’s growth and engagement. The community has seen substantial growth, with membership numbers reaching over 2,250 members from 14+ industries, throughout 73+ countries in the past year.

Education Partner Update

EXIN are Scopism’s education partner for SIAM certification. They……empower professionals worldwide to excel in the digital domain. With a global partner network, and multiple ways to help you prepare for your exam EXIN independently assesses and validates competencies in the digital realm, ensuring that our certifications carry a seal of excellence. In 2021, they joined forces with the Software Improvement Group (SIG) to amplify our impact and build a healthier digital world

Namrata Sahoo from EXIN shared insights on the SIAM certification trends. Over the past three years, SIAM certifications have experienced double-digit growth annually and they have been delivered in over 24 countries. Sun Zhenpeng from EXIN Japan made a presentation about the SIAM – EXIN Certification career path, on the previous and upcoming events and he presented some interesting key studies including well-known global companies. “We are excited to join forces with Scopism to further develop the SIAM community and ecosystem across Asian countries. This collaboration will offer tremendous opportunities for user and vendor organizations to share their knowledge and experiences with SIAM implementation. The International Best Practice Alliance will host upcoming SIAM community events in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur during August 2024. Gear up and stay tuned!”- Sun Zhenpeng.

New topics/BoK refresh

Scopism has announced that the SIAM Body of Knowledge will be reviewed and refreshed in 2025.

Michiel Boom from Kyndryl made a presentation about Extending SIAM towards the Enterprise Operating Model to facilitate the digital transformation.  The Council discussed other possible topics for inclusion in the updated BoK.

Upcoming Initiatives and Events

Several key dates and initiatives were outlined for the coming months:

  • June 2024: AI month in the SIAM community.
  • July 2024: Launch of the Global SIAM Survey and the first birthday of the SIAM community.
  • August 2024: SIAM Asia Summit – Community Event in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur
  • November 2024: Service North conference in the UK and the release of the Global SIAM Survey Whitepaper.
  • Q4 2024: Launch of Scopism SIAM Assured, an accreditation program for SIAM providers.

By working together, the SIAM community can continue to thrive and evolve, addressing the challenges and opportunities of the future. The council meeting was very insightful and productive, and we encourage different organizations to join is in our SIAM journey.
