  • Regional partners update (Africa, Americas, Australia/New Zealand)
  • Content Council introduction
  • Market trends and discussion
  • AOB/Actions/Close

SIAM community update

Steph Ward, Scopism’s community manager, provided an update on community membership and growth. With more than 5,000 members from 122 countries, the community represents SIAM practitioners around the world. 33% of community members report ‘interest in SIAM but not currently using it’, also demonstrating strong opportunities for further growth.
Steph shared that to date more than 323 community events have been held, ranging from socials and working groups to webinars and research groups. The community is becoming more self-directing, with community members suggesting topics and hosting events. You can see past events in the online community here.

Education partner update

Namrata Sahoo from Scopism’s education partner EXIN provided an update from the world of SIAM training and certification. Demand for SIAM Foundation and Professional certification remains steady despite some significant headwinds affecting the global training market, and the newly launched Foundation bridge is expected to drive demand.

Regional partner updates

Claire Agutter shared the update from Fox ITSM, Scopism’s Africa partner, who are working on the first Scopism SIAM Assured accreditation in the region.

Integris Applied, Scopism’s Americas partner showed real dedication, with Tim Ryckman and Matt Reprogle attending despite it being a 4am start for them. Integris are expanding awareness of Scopism and SIAM in the region, as well as looking at how SIAM applies to internal operations, not just traditional outsourced environments. Their presentation sparked some useful debate around ‘SIAM Lite’ and Claire Agutter referred attendees to the Quick Start Compendium for some related content.

Suresh GP from TaUB Solutions, Scopism’s Australia and New Zealand partner, shared updates about upcoming legislative changes in his region that will drive demand for SIAM. APRA CPS 230 requirements compliance can be supported by SIAM practices.

Claire Agutter also shared the forthcoming Japanese translation of SIAM Foundation, completed in partnership with Dig2Next.

Content Council

Martin Neville, chair of the newly established Content Council, shared progress so far. The Council is still developing ways of working, but has already started work on four publications – two new Compendiums (Tooling and People), and updates to the existing Process and Other Practices Compendiums.

Market trends/other topics

The final matter of business was an open discussion on trends and the agenda for Scopism in the coming months. A wide-ranging discussion included experience management and XLAs, as well as agent level agreements (ALAs). The attendees agreed to create a working group to look at ALAs and SIAM in more detail.

Next meeting

The next council meeting will be on November 3rd. This meeting will be face to face, the day after Service North.
