Unisys white paper

New research from Scopism and Unisys explores an emerging shift in how organizations are applying Service Integration and Management (SIAM).

As service environments become increasingly complex and multi-supplier, organizations are evolving how they design, implement and operate service integration.

Developed collaboratively by Scopism and Unisys, this new whitepaper explores the rise of Selective Service Integration (SSI) – an approach where organizations strategically apply integration principles to the domains, suppliers or processes where they deliver the most value.

The research draws on a survey of the global Scopism SIAM Community, alongside 10 practitioner interviews across the UK, Europe, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.

Key findings

  • Only 6% of organizations have adopted a fully integrated SIAM model spanning all services and suppliers.
  • 44% apply service integration selectively to specific domains, suppliers or processes.
  • 52% retain the service integrator role in-house.
  • Only 12% operate under a fully outsourced SIAM provider model.

The whitepaper also explores the growing role of cloud platforms, automation and AI in enabling integration capabilities, alongside the potential for more streamlined governance models tailored to specific operational requirements. SSI represents an evolution in how SIAM is adopted, maintaining the fundamental principles of strong governance, collaboration and end-to-end accountability while enabling organizations to select the level and scope of integration that meets their requirements.
