Community Code of Conduct
Scopism is creating the SIAM community with the support of our community partners. Our goal is to provide SIAM professionals from around the world with a place to network, share ideas, and access high quality content about the evolution of SIAM.
Our Code of Conduct defines the behaviors we expect from our staff, community partners, contractors, volunteers, community members and any other stakeholder.
Our community culture will be based on:

Through the community, Scopism seeks to:
- Appreciate the contribution of all community members
- Create an environment to support professional and personal growth
- Lead, support and facilitate effective use of individual and organizational contributions
- Recognize the accomplishments of the volunteers who contribute to them
As a community member, we invite you to:
- Share knowledge and refrain from advertising or inappropriate commercial content
- Make constructive suggestions to improve our community
- Respect and support decisions made, including decisions for which you have a different opinion
- Contribute authentically – posts and comments should reflect your own knowledge and experience. While AI tools can support your thinking, community content must be written in your own words to maintain credibility and trust.
Fair Dealing
- The Company may use copyrighted material which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner. The Company is making such material available for criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research.
- The Company believes this constitutes a “fair dealing” of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 29 of the United Kingdom Copyright law.
- If You wish to use copyrighted material from Circle or Scopism for your own purposes that go beyond fair dealing, You must obtain permission from the copyright owner.

Scopism is committed to creating an impartial environment for all of its staff, volunteers, partners and community members. We want all of our stakeholders to experience an environment that is free from bias and discrimination.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Anti-Harassment Policy
Scopism prohibits any harassing conduct or other behavior which creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for staff, volunteers, partners and community members. Harassing or otherwise inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to, verbal or physical conduct that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual because of that person’s race, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or other such characteristic. Slurs, jokes, insensitive cultural references, use of stereotypes, hostility, insults and/or expressions of hatred or dislike directed at groups or individuals as members of groups within society can all be examples of prohibited harassing conduct. Scopism also strictly prohibits conduct that may constitute sexual harassment.
